Kristine Gether (contralto) and Mary Hubbell (soprano) are joined by Sandra Mogensen (piano) on a program of American art song of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. This program explores the influence of European travels and study on American composers, including Samuel Barber, Mary Howe, Amy Beach, and George Gershwin. Contemporary composers William Bolcom and Gregory W. Brown are also featured, including the European premiere of Brown’s set Drei Lieder nach Gedichten von Kurt Kramer.
